Sustainable construction

Our approach
WME is committed to the design and promotion of low energy construction and the adoption of appropriate sustainability measures wherever feasible.

Our building services team includes experts trained in LEED, BSRIA, Estidama and EHS Green Building certification, and all our engineers are highly experienced in meeting — and often exceeding — the requirements of legislation in Gulf Co-operation Council countries, building codes and international standards.

In addition to meeting statutory requirements, we provide a range of sustainability initiatives as part of our standard UAE service delivery. These include measures that can reduce energy and water usage and reduce waste generation, saving on operational costs and benefiting the environment generally. Through initiatives such as facade glazing performance studies, shading and orientation reviews, and intelligent lighting control systems, optimum and economic solutions can be found for the delivery of user-friendly high-quality environments.

Sustainability is now a fundamental part of building development. WME’s integrated approach enables us to provide efficient co-ordinated measures that deliver whole-project benefits as well as minimising environmental impacts.

Our sustainability services include:

passive design . sustainable construction . low impact materials use . building performance studies . optimised HVAC systems . lighting and electrical energy control systems . renewable energy systems . waste services . water harvesting and recycling . water usage reduction measures . building management systems . transport system integration
